Welcome to my blog foodies, today i'm gonna share to you about my activity. This monday my team got celebs Indonesian's Menu in Appetizer. The appetizer called "Jalangkote". Jalangkote is a traditional snack from Makassar, South Sulawesi. In Javanese they called "pastel'. Jalangkote is a fried pastry that filled with minced beef, vegetables and a slice of boiled egg. It's very delicious and crunchy. You should try them. So, as usual we oneline in the kitchen and get some information about the dish from the supervisor. After that we prepare the dish for tomorrow.
I make small meeting with my team. Then we continue to prepare. Me, muis, and bobby prepare the filled. And the others prepare the skin of jalangkote. I put carrot, egg, potatoes in the basket and bring them on the working table. Bobby cut all of them. Then i take the minced beef and towing them. After that i boiled a water to make a hard boiled egg. After all the filled is finish. We mix all of them except the egg. The egg must be sliced.
The filled must be sauted until tender. Then we continuento moulding the skin of jalangkoten with the filled. It called kalumping. I've try 3 times to moulding them but i can't make a perfect kalumping. My friends told me to stop. Let them kalumping the jalangkote. And i let them haha. It's pretty hard, but easy to see them make it the kalumping. After that we fried them but only half fried. Tomorrow we will continue to fried them.
